We have community events – including pop-up roadshows – throughout the year where you can come along and talk to us.

We carry out consultations and host conferences where you can tell us about the big issues.

We also want tenants to become part of our panels, forums and committees – or become a tenant Board Member.

And there's our annual Tenants’ Satisfaction Survey which asks tenants what we are doing right – and how we can get better.

Wheatley Homes Glasgow, part of Wheatley Group, was created in April 2022, combining Glasgow Housing Association and Cube Housing Association’s homes in Glasgow  to create a single organisation in the city.

Owning over 40,000 affordable homes across Glasgow, it is the main provider of social housing in the city.

We are looking for a Non-Executive Director for the Wheatley Homes Glasgow Board, succeeding a retiring member. The role also includes being a Wheatley Homes Glasgow drawn member of the Wheatley Group Audit Committee and one other sister company Board.

We are seeking a qualified accountant, with senior experience in financial management and/or corporate finance roles.

This is an exciting time to join the Board as we recently refreshed our strategy and have a positive vison to:

  • engage 1000 tenants, the ‘Glasgow 1000’, on everything from service design, policy development to prioritisation of funding;
  • invest over £250m improving existing homes, making them warmer and more energy-efficient;
  • build 4000 new affordable homes in the city over the next decade – the vast majority for social rent;
  • kickstart regeneration in new community action areas, including Wyndford in Maryhill; and
  • provide thousands of new jobs and training opportunities for people in our communities.

A time commitment of approximately 15 days per annum will be required.

Scrutiny Panel
 

The panel looks closely at how Wheatley Homes Glasgow and other parts of Wheatley Group performs.

It's made up of customers from across the Group who scrutinise reports and meet with senior staff to review service and  performance.

The panel produces a statement each year. This helps inform Wheatley Homes Glasgow's annual Report to Tenants.

Customer Inspectors
 

Customer Inspectors work across Wheatley Homes Glasgow's parent company, Wheatley Group. They review services from the point of view of a customer. This includes visiting sites and interviewing customers.

They focus on key areas which are important to tenants, including repairs, customer service and complaints. The Inspectors make recommendations which we use to help improve services.
