Linda Christie

Dr Linda Christie is a senior strategy, governance, performance and transformation leader with more than 20 years' experience across government, public agencies, local government, higher education, skills and economic development in Scotland. Working in a portfolio capacity in recent years, she undertakes senior leadership and strategic advisory roles, advising Boards, Chief Executives and executive teams on organisational transformation, performance and strategic programmes delivery. Most recent projects include senior leadership/advisory roles with: Qualifications Scotland, The Highland Council and national public agencies.

Throughout her career, Linda has led and contributed to major investment programmes across economic development, housing, regeneration and place-based growth. She has held senior leadership roles at Zero Waste Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, the University of Glasgow, Glasgow City Council and Qualifications Scotland, leading large-scale transformation, corporate improvement and economic/social policy initiatives. Her experience includes delivery of Glasgow's Commonwealth Games legacy programmes, Transformation Regeneration Area (TRAs) housing and regeneration initiatives, the Glasgow Riverside Innovation District, and inclusive innovation growth programmes designed to improve economic and social outcomes for communities across Scotland.

An applied economist and public policy professional, Linda also has a longstanding academic and professional interest in housing policy, housing systems and place-based development. Her research work has focused on the governance, institutional and economic factors influencing housing outcomes, regeneration and inclusive growth. She has collaborated extensively with leading housing academics at the University of Glasgow's UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE), and has authored and co-authored several housing policy publications. Recent work includes The Value of Housing for the Nationwide Foundation, research on long-term housing strategy and institutional governance for the University of Birmingham's Local Policy Innovation Partnership (LPIP) Hub, and a forthcoming book on UK housing policy being developed with academics from the University of Glasgow.
