Linda Christie

Dr Linda Christie is a senior strategy, governance and transformation leader with more than 20 years' experience across government, public bodies, higher education and economic development in Scotland. She currently serves as Strategic Planning, Performance & Governance Lead at Qualifications Scotland.

Linda has held senior leadership roles at Zero Waste Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, the University of Glasgow and Glasgow City Council, leading major organisational transformation, performance improvement and economic policy programmes of national significance. Her experience includes delivery of Glasgow's Commonwealth Games legacy programme, Transformation Regeneration Area (TRA) housing initiatives, and inclusive growth and innovation policy.

An applied economist and public policy specialist, Linda has a longstanding academic and professional interest in housing policy, housing systems and place-based development. She has worked with leading housing academics, including Professor Ken Gibb and Professor Duncan Maclennan at the University of Glasgow's UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE), examining the governance, institutional and economic productivity factors shaping housing outcomes. Her recent housing research in 2025/26 includes co-authoring The Value of Housing for the Nationwide Foundation and authoring A Long-Term Strategy for Housing: Lessons Learned on the Role of Institutions and Governance as a Place Fellow with the University of Birmingham's Local Policy Innovation Partnership (LPIP) Hub.
