Working with schools
Wheatley Homes Glasgow is helping youngsters learn about housing – and bringing a smile to communities.
We’ve helped more than 100 school pupils achieve a Chartered Institute in Housing (CIH) Level 2 Community Action in Housing qualification.
Pupils from St Roch’s in Royston, Smithycroft Secondary in Riddrie, and Knightswood Secondary are three of the schools to sign up.
The Community Action in Housing Award combines classwork with practical activities in communities. The CIH course gives young people an opportunity to learn about the housing sector and about the communities we work in.
Pupils have also helped housing staff to organise and deliver food hampers to elderly and vulnerable customers, and organise parties for customers in sheltered housing complexes.
