Communities across Glasgow will benefit from a massive investment of over £150 million between now and 2028.

Wheatley Homes Glasgow is to invest the sum of money to improve homes and neighbourhoods in the city, transforming homes by making them warmer, drier and cheaper to run.

Baillieston, Carntyne and Sandyhills
 

Over the next three years we will invest over £14.8m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 310 homes;
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in almost 110 homes.
  • new bathrooms in over 60 homes;
  • around 310 new windows;
  • new extractor fans in 20 homes;
  • around 60 new front or back doors;
  • around 55 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including 65 new electric heating systems and 340 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in around 215 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in almost 110 homes.

2025

More than £280,000 has been invested in installing new efficient gas boilers in 106 homes across the area.

A further £260,000 was spent on new kitchens in 43 homes in Larchgrove Avenue and Larchgrove Road.

Castlemilk, Pollokshaws and Toryglen
 

Over the next three years we will invest almost £19.2m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 420 homes;
  • loft or floor insulation improvements
  • new windows in 380 homes;
  • new extractor fans in 50 homes;
  • nearly 110 new front or back doors;
  • over 140 new close doors;
  • over 70 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including nearly 175 new electric heating systems and 250 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in 700 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in 100 homes.

2025

This year, Wheatley has invested significantly in homes and communities across Castlemilk. We spent £1 million replacing windows in more than 100 homes at Mannering Court, Holmbank Avenue, Deanston Drive and Millwood Street. We also invested nearly £700,000 in new kitchens, resulting in 81 new installations across Dougrie Street, Dougrie Drive and Glenacre Drive.

In addition, over £330,000 has been spent replacing old gas boilers and heating systems with new, more efficient gas boilers and electric heating in 109 homes across the area.

As part of our wider neighbourhood improvement programme, Wheatley is investing more than £2.5 million to improve the fabric of 22 tenement blocks in Castlemilk. This includes new windows, render repairs and painting. Ongoing works will also see 12 blocks on Castlemilk Drive benefit from new windows, render repairs and painting, while 10 blocks on Downcraig Drive and Dougrie Road receive new roofs, render repairs and painting. This work is expected to be completed by November.

We have also invested £221,000 to improve the common close areas in 45 tenements across Dougrie Place, Dougrie Road, Downcraig Drive and Castlemilk Drive, including redecoration of close and stairwell areas.

City Centre, Royston and Parkhead
 

Over the next three years we will invest around £16.7m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 500 homes;
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in almost 20 homes.
  • around 220 new windows;
  • new extractor fans in 30 homes;
  • around 20 new front or back doors;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including nearly 280 new electric heating systems and 140 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in 400homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in almost 20 homes.

2025

In the city centre, Wheatley is investing heavily in improving homes and tenements. Over £800,000 is being spent on sandstone tenements on High Street as part of our major pre-1919 tenement fabric repair programme, which includes sandstone and chimney repairs as well as new roofs. This work began in April and is due to be completed by November.

We also invested £215,000 through our neighbourhood improvement programme to upgrade the common close areas in 30 tenements at Parnie Street, St Andrews Street and the Saltmarket, including redecoration of close and stairwell areas.

More than £300,000 has been spent installing 47 new kitchens in homes across John Knox Street, Duke Street, Cathedral Street/Square, Bell Street, Parnie Street, Saltmarket, King Street, Osborne Street, St Andrews Street and Blackfriars Street. In addition, 45 homes benefited from new, efficient gas boilers and electric heating at a cost of more than £130,000.

As part of our ongoing fire safety programme, Wheatley is also investing almost £650,000 to install a new emergency lighting system in the high-rise flats at 80 and 90 Charles Street. Work started in May and will be completed by November.

Cranhill, Riddrie, Blackhill and Provanmill, Ruchazie, Craigend, Garthamlock and Easterhouse
 

Over the next three years we will invest over £16.7m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 330 homes;
  • around 380 new windows;
  • new bathrooms in around 30 homes;
  • almost 180 new front or back doors;
  • more than 130 new close doors;
  • renew 20 pitched roof coverings;
  • almost 60 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including nearly 50 new electric heating systems and 240 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in over 470 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in over 100 homes.

2025

Sixty-one homes in Bellrock Crescent, Fastnet Street, Cumbrae Street, Malin Place and Corran Street received new kitchens at a cost of £430,000. We also replaced old heating systems with new, efficient gas boilers in 113 homes, investing £300,000.

As part of our neighbourhood improvement programme, we are investing over £136,000 to upgrade the common close areas in 34 tenements at Blairlogie Street, Bellrock Street, Gantock Crescent, Loretto Place, Ruchazie Place, Mossvale Walk and Inishail Road. This work, which includes redecoration of the close and stairwell areas, began in August and is scheduled to be completed this month.

Drumchapel, Blairdardie and Knightswood North
 

Over the next three years we will invest over £14.5m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 270 homes;
  • around 40 new windows;
  • new bathrooms in over 110 homes;
  • around 100 new close doors;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including nearly 75 new electric heating systems and 315 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in nearly 400 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in over 60 homes.

2025

Forty-six homes across the area received new efficient gas boilers at a cost of more than £130,000.

Wheatley invested £315,000 in putting in new kitchens in 47 homes in Drumchapel Road, Garscadden Road and Glenkirk Drive.

Govan, Mosspark and Cardonald
 

Over the next three years we will invest almost £19.7m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in more than 360 homes;
  • around 380 new windows;
  • new extractor fans in 20 homes;
  • around 30 new front or back doors;
  • almost 110 new close doors;
  • renew more than 30 pitched roof coverings;
  • more than 50 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including 85 new electric heating systems and 435 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in around 540 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in around 100 homes.

2025

More than £900,000 is being invested in new windows and fabric improvements at Orkney Street and Vicarfield Road. This work began in August and is expected to be completed by January 2026.

We also invested over £500,000 to install 65 new kitchens in homes at Bowfield Place and Napier Terrace. This programme began in August and was completed in September.

As part of our commitment to improving energy efficiency, more than £600,000 has been invested in new electric heating systems for customers living in the high flats at Tannadice Path, with over 80 homes benefiting. A further 97 customers received new efficient gas boilers, representing an additional investment of £250,000.

Through our neighbourhood improvement programme, Wheatley is investing over £120,000 to upgrade the common close areas of 46 tenements across Inverness Street, Orkney Street, Finsbay Street, Kincraig Street, Shieldhall Road and Tormore Street. This work, which includes redecoration of close and stairwell areas, began in June and is scheduled for completion by January 2026.

In addition, nearly £650,000 has been invested in a new emergency lighting system in the high-rise flats at 80 and 90 Charles Street, delivered as part of our ongoing fire safety programme.

Knightswood South and Garscadden
 

Over the next three years we will invest more than £13.8m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in 150 homes;
  • around 340 new windows;
  • around 60 new front or back doors;
  • almost 30 new close doors;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including 230 electric heating systems and almost 90 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in around 140 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in around 70 homes.

2025

Wheatley is investing significantly in improvements across the area, including more than £500,000 in new windows at Thornley Avenue, Foxbar Drive, Boreland Drive, Dykebar Avenue, Lochlibo Avenue, Glen Crescent and Glendevon Square. Work is due to begin shortly and will be completed by March.

We are also investing £1.4 million in new lifts at 50 and 60 Kingsway Court, with work already on site and scheduled for completion by June 2026.

Pollok, Darnley and Kennishead
 

Over the next three years we will invest almost £17m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in around 350 homes;
  • around 330 new windows;
  • new bathrooms in around 30 homes;
  • new extractor fans in 20 homes;
  • around 105 new front or back doors;
  • almost 160 new close doors;
  • around 20 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including 50 electric heating systems and almost 320 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in 400 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in almost 70 homes.

2025

Wheatley has invested heavily in improving homes across the area. More than £600,000 was spent installing new kitchens in over 90 homes in Dryad Street, Darnley Path, Hopeman Path and Avenue, Househillmuir Road, Cleeves Road and Dove Street. This programme began in July and was completed in September.

We also invested almost £300,000 to install new windows in 39 homes at Hopeman Avenue and Thornliebank Road. This work took place between July and August. In addition, 134 homes across the area benefited from new, efficient gas boilers, representing a further investment of £350,000.

As part of our neighbourhood improvement programme, Wheatley invested over £80,000 to upgrade the common close areas in 30 tenements at Bangorshill Street, Capelrig Street, Clova Street, Drumpark Street, Kiloran Street and Roukenburn Street. The work, which included full redecoration of close and stairwell areas, was completed in July.

Scotstoun, Wyndford, Summerston and Broomhill
 

Over the next three years we will invest almost £12.1m in your local area to deliver:

  • new kitchens in more than 170 homes;
  • around 30 new windows;
  • new extractor fans in more than 40 homes;
  • more than 210 new close doors;
  • renew almost 60 pitched roof coverings;
  • around 30 new windows in communal closes;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including around 15 electric heating systems and 30 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in nearly 400 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in around 50 homes.

2025

Wheatley spent more than £40,000 in new efficient gas boilers in 14 homes across the area.

In addition, 23 customers in Forres Street benefitted from a £160,000 investment in new windows in their homes.

Sighthill, Milton, Royston and Barmulloch
 

Over the next three years we will invest almost £12m in your local area to:

  • new kitchens in 230 homes;
  • around 30 new windows;
  • around 60 new front or back doors;
  • more than 40 new close doors;
  • extra energy efficiency improvements, including around 75 electric heating systems and 130 new gas boilers;
  • environmental improvement works to closes and other common areas such as external insulation, upgraded paths, external painting and gutter replacements in 180 homes; and
  • loft or floor insulation improvements in around 50 homes.

2025

Sixty-nine customers across the area benefited from an investment of £200,000 in new efficient gas boilers.

And 37 homes in Torogay Terrace, Scalpay St, Kilfinan St and Liddesdale Terrace received brand new kitchens at a cost of £270,000.
