Wyndford community to have their say on £100m regeneration and hub

It is part of the next phase in transforming the Maryhill estate in Glasgow following the demolition of three outdated and unpopular multi-storeys in March.

An earlier event in April saw tenants and homeowners meet Wheatley staff, architects, and designers to look at drawings and designs for almost 400 new homes, many of which will be for larger families.

The second event, held at Maryhill Burgh Halls on Wednesday May 21 from 2-7pm, will feature updated drawings and 3D model, following feedback from residents, a computer simulated flythrough and plans for the new community hub.

Frank McCafferty, Wheatley’s Group Director of Assets and Development, said: “We want to hear once again from the community and get their thoughts and views ahead of the full planning application going before Glasgow City Council later this summer.

“The feedback we’ve received so far has been excellent and has really helped shape the plans to transform the community.

“This latest event allows local people to see the exciting plans by Wheatley and Glasgow City Council for a new community hub, which will be at the heart of the neighbourhood.”

The proposal boards for the second consultation event will be available to view at the venue and on the project website from 21 May. The project website also has a digital feedback form that can be submitted online until 4 June.

The sessions are part of a ‘Proposal of Application’ (PAN) notice Wheatley submitted to Glasgow City Council in advance of a formal planning application.
