2025 investment timeline

This year, we’ve made significant progress in improving homes and communities across Glasgow, with millions invested in safety, comfort, and neighbourhood enhancements. Here’s a look at what’s been achieved so far and what’s still underway.

From fire safety upgrades to new kitchens, windows, and neighbourhood improvements, these investments reflect our commitment to creating safer, more comfortable homes for communities across Glasgow.

We’ll continue to bring you updates on our plans, as well as stories from staff and tenants on how our neighbourhood improvements are making homes and lives better.

April
 

High Street tenements
Work began on a £800,000 project to repair sandstone tenements as part of our major pre-1919 tenement fabric repair programme. This includes chimney repairs and new roofs, with completion due in November.

May
 

Charles Street high-rise flats
Installation of a new emergency lighting system started in the high-rise flats at 80 and 90 Charles Street. This £650,000 investment is part of our fire safety programme and will finish by November.

June
 

Neighbourhood improvements – south Glasgow
£120,000 invested to redecorate common close areas in 46 tenements across Inverness Street, Orkney Street, Finsbay Street, Kincraig Street, Shieldhall Road, and Tormore Street. Completion is expected January 2026.

July
 

Dougrie Street and Glenacre Drive
Nearly £700,000 invested in new kitchens, with 81 installations completed.

Dryad Street and surrounding Areas
Over £600,000 spent on new kitchens in more than 90 homes across Dryad Street, Darnley Path, Hopeman Path and Avenue, Househillmuir Road, Cleeves Road, and Dove Street. This was completed in September.

Bangorshill Street & Surrounding Areas
£80,000 invested to redecorate common close areas in 30 tenements.

Hopeman Avenue and Thornliebank Road
Almost £300,000 invested in new windows for 39 homes.

August
 

Castlemilk neighbourhood improvements
£221,000 invested to redecorate common close areas in 45 tenements at Dougrie Place, Dougrie Road, Downcraig Drive, and Castlemilk Drive. The completion is scheduled for November.

East Glasgow neighbourhood improvements
£136,000 invested to redecorate common close areas in 34 tenements at Blairlogie Street, Bellrock Street, Gantock Crescent, Loretto Place, Ruchazie Place, Mossvale Walk, and Inishail Road. Completion is scheduled for November.

Bowfield Place and Napier Terrace
Over £500,000 invested in new kitchens for 65 homes. These were completed in September.

Orkney Street and Vicarfield Road
More than £900,000 invested in new windows and fabric improvements. Completion is expected in January 2026.

September
 

Work to install new windows at Forres Street in Scotstoun, Wyndford, Summerston and Broomhill began in September and will complete in December.

October
 

Work to install new windows in over 100 homes at Mannering Court, Holmbank Avenue, Deanston Drive and Millwood Street in Castlemilk, Pollokshaws and Toryglen began in October and will complete in December 2025.

Work to improve common closes in 30 city centre tenements at Parnie Street, St Andrews Street and Saltmarket began in October and will complete in December 2025.

Work to install new electric heating systems at Tannadice Path high flats in Govan, Mosspark and Cardonald began in October and will complete in December 2025.

November
 

Work at Windsor Crescent in Clydebank began in November and will complete in March 2026.

Ongoing major works
 

Kingsway Court lifts
£1.4 million investment in new lifts at 50 and 60 Kingsway Court. Completion is expected in June 2026.

Planned works for 2026
 

Work to install new windows across Thornley Avenue, Foxbar Drive, Boreland Drive, Dykebar Avenue, Lochlibo Avenue, Glen Crescent and Glendevon Square in Knightswood South and Garscadden will start in the new year and complete in March 2026.
