Home Comforts
Making your house feel a home can be expensive. Our Home Comforts service helps tenants who need furniture but can’t afford it.
We take unwanted pieces of furniture, clean them and make them as good as new. We’ll then pass them to tenants who need it most.
What type of furniture and appliances can I receive or donate?
We can provide - and accept as donations - good quality:
- Sofas and armchairs
- Beds and bed bases
- Tables and chairs
- Wardrobes, drawers and bedside cabinets
- Coffee tables and TV units
- Cookers, washing machines, fridge-freezers, microwaves
- Televisions
Due to new regulations of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), the team can't accept donations of upholstered seating (like sofas and fabric chairs) if the fabric is torn.
Items must also have their required fire safety labels.

Are items cleaned before they go out?
Yes – every item is cleaned, checked and made ready for use before it reaches a customer.
Sofas, chairs and mattresses are professionally cleaned, and appliances are wiped down inside and out and PAT tested to make sure they work.
We make sure everything is safe, clean and ready to use.
How do I donate furniture and appliances?
If you have furniture, electrical or white goods in your home that you no longer need, get in touch with our Customer First Centre on 0800 479 7979 or complete our online form to arrange a free pick-up.
We can then pass these goods to people who need them.
